Schultz & Larsen Tactical – A Great Dane
The Shultz & Larsen Tactical is for those who want a rifle with a stiff action and thus greater stability. The Tactical has a brutal appearance and is born with an action that has a built-in Picatinny rail. This allows the optimum installation of special mounts and such, but also the newly developed Picatinny mounting system from Shultz & Larsen. Additionally, it provides great opportunities for installation of night vision sights, which usually requires the rifle scope to sit further back. The GRS stock is adjustable for length with a single push on the rear button. The second side button allows instant adjustment of the comb height for a perfect line of sight through the scope.
The Tactical is the only Schultz & Larsen rifle which is produced in two different types of metal, either the high strength aluminium or steel. Both models have great stability, however, the aluminium model is lighter than the steel model, around 400 g.
The Tactical model comes with a 74 cm barrel as standard. The barrel has a diameter of Ø27. It has an interchangeable barrel system so that you can quickly and easily replace your barrel to a different calibre. The Tactical also accepts other Schultz & Larsen rifle barrels. The Shultz & Larsen switch barrel system makes it quick and easy to change calibres along with a heavy barrel set up for long range precision but switching to a lighter barrel for field work. If you change between Standard and Magnum calibres you will also need to change the bolt. One standard bolt can be used with all calibres in the Standard group and the Magnum bolt with all Magnum calibres.
Safety has top priority with all locking parts designed and tested to withstand at least three times normal load. In the case of an overload resulting in a primer blow-out or case rupture, the high pressure gas can escape through holes in the front of the action and on the side of the bolt. This coupled with the extremely tight fit of the bolt and action ensures that the shooter is not injured.
The safety catch has three positions and locks the bolt and blocks the firing pin. The centre position allows unloading of the rifle whilst the safety is engaged.
The Tactical is supplied with a six shot magazine as standard, but will accept the smaller capacity magazine if required. Two bolt handles, large and medium, are included. As standard, the Tactical is fitted with the excellent Schultz & Larsen designed two-stage trigger, The first stage of the pull takes up 60% of the pull weight making for a very light and crisp final break. This trigger allows absolute precision.
The Tactical is available in the following calibres:
308 WIN, 30.06, .22-250, .243 WIN, 6.5×47 Lapua, 6.5-284, 7×57, 7mm-08, 8×57 JS
300 WIN Mag, 300 WSM, 338 WIN Mag, 7 mm Rem Mag, 270 WSM, 358 NM
The full range of Schultz & Larsen rifle will be available on the Alan Rhone stand in Gunmakers Hall 1 at The British Shooting Show 2017.
