THE SHOOTING PARTY GOES 100% DIRECT TO THE TRADE

The Shooting Party, (TSP), of Shenstone, Staffs, UK, the Shooting & Outdoor Pursuits company, announced today the immediate launch of their new ‘100% Direct to the Trade’ distribution policy.

“For the last six years, all of our PAOtm-Professional Airgun Optics products; many of our AirForceOnetm top-sellers, such as the ‘Air Pistol of the Year 2014’ – the ‘Trophy’ and the much-lauded ‘Panther’ pellets together with selective items from our Anson & Deeleytm leather shooting accessories range, have been very successfully distributed to the trade by Range Right Ltd.” said Mike Hurney, Chairman, TSP.

“Over the last year or so, as we have introduced new and innovative products that either competed with existing products in Range Right’s portfolio, or did not necessarily fit into their ‘Broadband’ ‘soup-to-nuts’ product range strategy, we were being approached by Retailers to supply these items; therefore we distributed such products as the run-away best sellers the ‘MOSIN-NAGANT’ Steel BB rifle; the TAI CHI exposed hammer pistol and the ‘Rugged’ Rifle Rest and Shooting Bench products directly to the trade.” Hurney added.

“It has become increasingly apparent over the last few months that this dual route-to-market approach was leading to significant confusion in the minds of retailers and consumers alike, this came to a head at the recent ‘Tackle & Guns’ Trade Show where retailers were dismayed that when placing their orders with us for the ‘Trophy MK II’ CO2 pistol, they were not able to order sights and pellets optimised for that gun at the same time. It was obvious that this lack of clarity could allow certain products to ‘get lost in the mix’ and had the potential to damage the brands and products performance in the market place.”

“Therefore, we took the difficult decision to terminate our distribution agreement with Range Right for all our brands with immediate effect and henceforth all our products will be distributed directly by The Shooting Party, as the owner of the brands. We would like to thank Range Right’s managing director, Gill Peters and her staff for all their past support and wish them every future success as they continue to broaden their product range.”
