Rodenticide Training for Gamekeepers Course in West Sussex

The National Gamekeepers’ Organisation (NGO) is holding a one-day “Rat Control for Gamekeepers” course on 8 May, near Arundel, West Sussex, that will allow gamekeepers to use professional rodenticides.

Following the Health and Safety Executive of 2016, the use of professional rodenticides was restricted, meaning that certification was necessary. The NGO along with other representative bodies for shooting, combined with the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use, as well as BASIS Registration Ltd, to offer a new course that will include the certification necessary for buying and using professional rodenticides. “Rat Control for Gamekeepers” is the only course specifically developed for the gamekeepers needs.

Certification is awarded following the successful completion of an exam, which is a one-hour multiple choice test over seen by BASIS. The exam can be taken on paper immediately after the training finishes or online at a later date, however candidates must confirm which option they are choosing when booking on the course.

The course costs £180 including VAT for members, and £240 including VAT for non-members, and the costs includes course literature, the exam and certificates for successful candidates. The course will run from 11am to 4pm, and attendees should bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided. Apply for a place by contacting the NGO main office at info@nationalgamekeepers.org.uk or telephone 01833 660869.
